Military tourism in Ukraine

The public organization Visit Ukraine founded dark-tourism in Ukraine in the cities destroyed by Russian invaders in the Kyiv region.

The organizers intend to convey to the world community the truth about the tragic events of the war in Ukraine. The organizers of military tourism plan to involve guides, tourism experts and memory specialists in cooperation. The development of Visit Ukraine tours was inspired by the visits of foreign officials, actors, stars, philanthropists and politicians to Irpen, Bucha, Gostomel and other affected towns of the Kyiv region destroyed by Russian invaders.

Head of Visit Ukraine Anton Taranenko said that foreigners have a demand to see the consequences of the modern war in Ukraine with their own eyes, so they decided to support the authors in the development of tours. "This is history before our eyes, an open-air memorial. At one time, the fields of World War II became a place of pilgrimage for tourists. Then Chernobyl. What is happening in Ukraine today is our reality. We must inform the world community about the tragic events that, unfortunately, took place in the civilized world in the 21st century," Taranenko commented.

All profits from sales of tours will be directed to help Ukrainian refugees. Now the concept of military tourism is under development.
